The Atlanta Falcons and Arizona Cardinals both fired their head coaches Monday, the Falcons parting ways with Mora and the Cardinals letting Green go. Both teams had high expectations entering the season, but did not fulfill them. Atlanta finished 7-9 and Arizona went 5-11.
Mora led the Falcons to a division title and an NFC Championship Game appearance in the 2004-2005 season. However, since then, Mora has gone 15-17 as Atlanta's coach. Green spent two seasons in Arizona and accumulated a 10-22 record. He failed to take the Cardinals to the playoffs in either of his two years as head coach.
