A lot of Yankees' rumors

  • The Yankees are still talking to the Mariners about Jarrod Washburn. Apparently, the sticking point in this deal is that the Yanks would also have to take on Jose Vidro. Seattle would still be getting back Kei Igawa and a prospect. Indications are that a deal will probably get done soon.
  • There were Yankee scouts in Baltimore last night. Is it just a coincidence that they were there while A.J. Burnett was pitching in that game?
  • The Bronx Bombers have also added three new catchers to their list: Ramon Hernandez, Paul Lo Duca and Rod Barajas. Hernandez is the only one that really makes sense to me out of that trio, but I still think their best options are either Miguel Olivo or Gerald Laird.
  • Could the Yankees be willing to deal Robinson Cano? The Dodgers have supposedly offered up a package that would send Matt Kemp and Derek Lowe to New York for the second baseman. However, based on Cano's resurgence as of late, it seems unlikely that Brian Cashman would pull the trigger on this. I also find it interesting how the Dodgers are shopping Kemp around this much.
